I am an experienced tutor with double majors in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science. I am a married father of 4 children (Middle School to College age), and for over two decades I have tutored and mentored hundreds of students ranging in age from 7 to 82, elementary school students to Ph.D. candidates. Online tutoring has enabled me to help students in over 40 different states, from HI to MA and many places in between.

I graduated summa cum laude from Duke University with straight A's in Math, Computer Science and Engineering classes, but more importantly, I have helped many students improve their test scores and course grades by multiple letters (for example from F to B, from C to A, etc.). Many of my AP Computer Science students have earned a 5 (top score) on the AP exam.

Helping you (or your daughter or son) succeed is the reason why I tutor. I can (and do) make more money per hour doing computer consulting, but I get more personal enjoyment and fulfillment helping students of any age overcome their challenges and reach their goals.

Your success is important to me, and I look forward to helping you.

The best Java Tutor on Wyzant

I have tried so many tutors on Wyzant, this was one of the best tutors I had and was happy to pay for his tutoring regardless of other low rates tutors around. He didn't only help with the materials but also with coding and assignments. He is always well prepared beforehand and extremely efficient and explain things very clearly and in simple way. In my opinion, he is outstanding and I highly recommend him.

Very Knowledgeable Tutor for JAVA Programming

Bob helped me with JAVA Programming. Bob gave me the basic understanding of the organization and hierarchy of the Classes in JAVA so that better understand the proper way to setup instance variable and order of operation that JAVA uses in the compile of the program. Bob was able to instruct me very clearly how to resolve the issue I was having with the programming lab error.

He was precise with answers and always made sure I was in track and understood the process. At the end of our session I was able to understand the process for Mathematics Inductions. Thank you Bob for your help!!!

Knowledgeable, patient, friendly tutor

Bob helped me implement an algorithm for a object-oriented Java project that I was stuck on for a long time, all while making sure I understood what was happening as he helped me diagnose and write the code. He spoke what he was thinking out loud before we tackled the problem, which helped me understand how to approach solving the problem. He also quickly knew the solution. Additionally, we looked at the code execute in the debugger and I learned some Java fundamentals/best practices as well. Overall, my lesson with Bob was very helpful and I was completely satisfied.
