University of North Carolina, Wilmington (French)
North Carolina State University (Enrolled)
I graduated summa cum laude from the University of North Carolina Wilmington in May 2015 with a bachelor's degree in French and a minor in Psychology. I am fluent in French and am comfortable writing, reading, speaking, and teaching it to others. I am currently obtaining my Master's degree in French Literature and Language from NC State University. I am also confident in my English skills and would be happy to tutor both French and English. I love working with people and sharing my knowledge of the French language and culture. I would be glad to work with you on any level of French or English you are currently at and help you advance your grammar, vocab, and pronunciation.
I have tutored students at the high school and college level in French and English for several years and feel I offer a fun and friendly way to learn. I utilize fun vocab games, videos, activities, and have many tips and tricks to remember word conjugations and meanings such as songs, rhymes, and acronyms. I will motivate you to improve your language skills and learn to love learning! Not everyone learns at the same pace and I am extremely flexible and able to adapt my tutoring techniques to your learning style. If you have a more advanced level, conversations and speaking scenarios may be implemented more than for a beginner. I have a real passion for languages and hope to master several others in the future. I am willing to travel to meet you and tutor you or your child at home or somewhere of your choice. I would love the opportunity to help you better your language skills and I look forward to working with you! Great first lesson. Had a very pleasant conversation in a coffee shop. Understood what I was looking for and adapted easily to it. Would recommend to anyone.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
