I am a college professor with 20 years of experience teaching language. I have taught English reading and writing as well as test preparation. I am currently a Spanish professor, but I want to extend my experience as an educator to work tutoring students who I hope will develop a love and appreciation for learning languages.
I have taught in the United States and abroad, and I have taught all levels of language to a variety of students, from honors students, struggling students, both at the high school and college level, non-traditional students, elementary age, and middle school. The one commonality I believe that I bring to all of my teaching experiences is that language learning should be fun! I am passionate about teaching languages because language is essential for bringing people together.
My graduate degree in English and Spanish from West Virginia University has provided me with the skills to teach language. The courses I took in contrastive linguistics have trained me to understand how native English speakers may struggle with learning Spanish, and I am experienced with teaching methodologies to overcome those difficulties.
I have a 24 hour cancellation notice for tutoring sessions, but I am willing to do make up sessions if necessary.
I hope to hear from you soon and prepare you for success with improving your language skills. I am a college professor with 20 years of experience teaching language. I have taught English reading and writing

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
