I'm what you might call a Renaissance Man or a Jack of Many Trades. My primary area of expertise is multimedia art and design, with a focus in Adobe's Creative Cloud programs for digital illustration and graphic design.

I'm what you might call a Renaissance Man or a Jack of Many Trades. My primary area of expertise is multimedia art and design, with a focus in Adobe's Creative Cloud programs for digital illustration and graphic design.

In 2004, I graduated from Forestview High School with honors (Summa Cum Laude) and immediately went to college at Appalachian State University to major in Music Industry Studies. After two years at ASU, I realized that the music industry really wasn't the path I wanted to travel down, so I transferred to East Carolina University's School of Art and Design. I graduated in December of 2014 with a Bachelor's of Fine Arts in Animation and Interactive Design.

The areas I am strongest in are:
• Painting and drawing (particularly figure drawing)
• Graphic Design
• Character design
• Illustration
• 3D modeling

Art and design-specific programs I tutor in include:
• Photoshop
• Illustrator
• InDesign
• After Effects
• Bridge
• Maya (intro-level modeling, texturing, and animation)

Some of my other skills include:

Computers: I'm skilled in several computer programs, including most of the Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and Dreamweaver) as well as Maya and Mudbox for 3D art. I'm used to using both Mac and PC computers for basic, every day work as well as art and graphics, music composition, audio editing, video editing, and more. I can also tutor basics like how to set up email, web browsers, and files. I have an intermediate to advanced understanding of Microsoft Word, a basic understanding of Excel, and an intermediate understanding of PowerPoint. I know basic HTML and CSS, but any other coding is beyond my level of expertise.

If you want a unique and fun tutoring experience, I'm definitely your guy. I try to tailor my teaching methods to each person's specific style. I know some students are stronger at audio-visual learning and others are better at logic, reading, and memorization, so I try to be flexible and find the best way to help you learn. I personally learn best through visuals, music, and association. When I'm explaining a new concept, I tend to employ the use of metaphors that the student can relate to.

As someone who grew up struggling with ADHD, I completely understand how hard it is to focus when lessons are boring and tedious. I want to help you find something meaningful and useful in your lessons and show you that you've got what it takes to master anything you put your mind to. If you struggle with something, then maybe we're not approaching it the right way. Let's get creative and use the skills, talents, and interests you already have to build something bigger and better!

Adrian is AWESOME!

I was given a Glowforge Laser Etching machine after getting my MFA in Metal Design. Yes, you would think this was a wonderful gift...BUT- it is NOTHING like the industrial Epilog I was used to. Adrian has been helping me adjust to some technology that is very complicated and requires completely different Ai files and a whole new skill set in Photoshop! I couldn't do this without Adrian's help!

Above and beyond Amazing graphic designer, tutor, and person.

I really can't say enough great things about Adrian. He's a cut above the rest. Not only is he extremely talented at Designing in all the subjects he has tutored me in (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, After Effects) He has the most effective/creative way of teaching I have ever come across in all my years and years as a student. He couldn't be nicer, patient, generous, caring, and reassuring. He has been very adaptive to my learning style...He never raises an impatient tone if you need something repeated and he always keeps the lesson highly engaging and fun. He is also really resourceful and has a lot of great links to sites he has shared with me that have been very helpful references. Overall, I leave the lessons feeling more confident and with many more tools in my pocket & skills gained. If you leave a lesson still feeling discouraged that's a problem with the tutor, which I have experienced. With Adrian, I always leave encouraged and that's why he's my go to...You're the best!!!

Knowledgeable and patient tutor

Adrian tutored my son in Illustrator, he is very knowledgeable about the program and taught my son a lot on how to shortcut and create the effects he wanted to add to his class project. Thank you, Adrian, for the great lesson you provided him.

Excellent Tutor for Illustrator

I had very little knowledge about Illustrator, but I had a very specific task that I needed to accomplish, understand and document for my job. Adrian first demonstrated via screen sharing each step required very clearly, then I demonstrated via screen sharing that I learned what he taught me. After the lesson, he sent detailed notes on everything we discussed and also provided a video that showed again the steps we covered during the lesson. Adrian was knowledgeable and very easy to understand - highly recommended!

He Is An Amazing Teacher!

I'm so pleased that i have him as my tutor. I just had my 1st lesson the other day and i just cant say enough good things about him. He's an expert in PS but even better, he can explain it to me so i understand how to do it. He shows me the big picture so I have a frame of reference, and then all the little steps that so many others leave out. Im looking forward to our next lesson in a few days.
