My name is Emily. I have a Bachelor's degree in German. I have been taking German since the 3rd grade, and I fell in love with the language. I am fortunate enough to have been able to study in Germany for 6 months. I was in Stuttgart, Germany. In college, I helped classmates with the language when they had trouble learning it. I teach German in a fun and friendly way, which was the way I learned it. I feel that just staring at the material for hours doesn't work. I try to incorporate games and pictures to reinforce learning.
I am a visual learner myself, so I like examples. I try to provide that in all aspects of my work. I also would be able to teach violin. I have played the violin for 12 years and I have a great love of music. My eye and ear for music is great, and I have always loved to play the violin as well as help others with their playing.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
