Innovative, zealous, and thorough are three words that describe my teaching style. I am confident that my academic background and professional experience make me a prime candidate to assist you or your son/daughter in the field of Mathematics. Together, my teaching style and philosophy have yielded tremendous success in the classroom. I have been able to build a rapport with my students, which makes the learning environment comfortable for them. Ultimately, my students develop an appreciation for the mathematics discipline while excelling on an individual basis.
My teaching philosophy has developed through my teaching experience, beginning as a math teacher at Sylvan Learning Center, math tutor at Northampton County High School East, research and graduate assistant at Elizabeth City State University, and adjunct to full time instructor at College of the Albemarle. In my experience, the learning curve increased when math was made more appealing and relevant to the students. I have been able to calibrate the disdain and passion students encompass for math and learning because of my aptitude for the subject matter and creative ability to convey it to the student body. While some may view my age and recent graduation as cons, I consider those factors as pros. My age, automatically, makes math seem relevant to most traditional students because I, seemingly, share some of the same experiences because of the generational commonality. Despite the rigorous curriculum and syllabus I develop for my classes, my effervescent personality deposits positive energy and productive vigor that motivate the students to strive for excellence.
To the student and/or parent, I appreciate the possibility of being considered for the opportunity to enhance you or your child's math journey. I welcome your questions and anticipate conversing with you soon!

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
