As a transplant to Raleigh, N.C. from Cairo, Egypt, I have had the unique opportunity of sharing my native language of Arabic and deeply rich culture with many of the students attending university here. I am a graduate of Cairo University in Urological Surgery (1983) and have spent the past 27 years working in the medical profession in Egypt. I received my high school diploma from College De La Salle, Cairo, Egypt (1977) and I speak French, too. I moved to Raleigh, North Carolina in 2010. My wife is American and lived and worked in Egypt for almost 8 years. I realized after my experience teaching her and several of her colleagues Arabic that I enjoy teaching and am thrilled with the opportunity to do so here in Raleigh, N.C. I do believe that learning needs to be enjoyable for both tutor and student. I have become quite familiar with the curriculum and textbooks used by the majority of Arabic language professors in the universities in N.C. and find it an easy fit for me. Feel free to contact me with further inquiries and/or concerns.
As a medical doctor, I can also help with Anatomy, Physiology, and Biology.

Emad has a great understanding and knowledge of Fusha (modern standard Arabic). He is great with both speaking and writing. He pushes me to pronounce the vocabulary correctly, and has given me a much better understanding of the language, and the culture. He has made a dramatic difference in my knowledge and enjoyment of the Arabic Language. Emad is very flexible and very easy to get in contact with. A true star all around. I highly recommend!
Emad is fast, accurate, and a very pleasant person with whom to work. As a nonprofit organization we highly recommend his services. It is our plan to hire him in the future when we organize our mission trip to the Middle East/Northern Africa. Thank you, Emad!
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
As an Egyptian, Arabic is my mother tongue. I completed my high school diploma in 1977, then I joined medical school, got my Bachelor degree in 1983 and Masters degree in 1988, I am familiar with different Arabic dialects inside Egypt, and in other Arabic countries, so I am capable to teach MSA. That will help you primarily to understand the media since it's the primary dialect, or if you are interested in colloquial Arabic, I can help with Egyptian colloquial. I can also help with other Arabic dialects. It's up to the student to decide what would he like to learn and master.
