I have been working in education for six years now. I started working in private Christian schools teaching Bible, Spanish, and PE. I have since transitioned to the public school system. I have worked as a one on one shadow for middle school and high school students, as well as a floating helper in various classrooms. Currently I work as a TA in an elementary EC classroom and elementary students with daily math, reading, and writing lessons.
I enjoy working with students to help them learn and grow both academically as well as in life skills. I have also been coaching for five years. I have coached Varsity Cross Country and Basketball in the past. Currently I coach Middle School Basketball and Varsity Track and Field. I believe that because of the classroom and coaching experience I have I can be a great help to students who need a little extra work and encouragement in certain subjects. I look forward to continuing my work in education by adding tutoring to what I currently do. I have passed the Praxis 2 in ESL and I currently had previously have helped students with reading and English. I have previously taught Spanish 1 and 2 in a classroom setting. I also have my undergraduate degree in Biblical Studies. Anyone who desires help in these subject areas, please contact me and lets see if I am able to help you! In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I have helped students in a small group classroom setting in Algebra 1 work.
My undergraduate degree is in Biblical Studies. I have also taken some Master's courses as well. I have studied and taught the Bible both in a classroom and church setting for 7 years now.
I have been working with teaching children ages K-6th for a number of years in various settings and now specifically in an elementary school setting for this past 2015-2016 school year. Daily my responsibilities include small group work with students on math, reading, writing, science, and computers. I also work with a whole classroom of students on occasion with a daily morning routine, recess, physical education, art, and music as well. Anything that would be involved in a school setting is something I am comfortable with and I believe that experience would also work well in a tutoring setting. Currently I work as a TA in an elementary EC classroom and elementary students with daily math, reading, and writing lessons.
I have been working with students in English for several years. I have worked both in and out of the classroom setting.
I currently work in an Exceptional Children's classroom in the public school system. I have daily contact with students with ADD/ADHD, Austism, ODD, and other compulsive behaviors or disorders. I have also had experience working one on one with students with Aspergers. Typically I am involved in helping with the classroom setting. I currently help daily with reading, writing, math, and science in an elementary classroom and in the past I have helped middle school and high school students with reading and math.
