I am currently a student at Surry Community College. I was in the Early College Program meaning that I will graduate in 2017 with an Associates in Arts and one in Science as well. I am not sure what I want to major in, because I love children and I also have a passion for math. So I figured I would put them together! Math Tutor! I have always had good grades in Math. It is my absolute favorite subject. I have take college Precal and Precal Trig. I got an A in both. I really do love it, and I love to teach people how to do something that they don't understand.
I volunteered at an elementary school in Dobson, North Carolina. I got to spend a lot of time with children and got to help them with whatever they needed. I also babysat when I was only 15. I baby sat a 5 and an 8 year old for an entire week. I loved it. So if someone needed a tutor as well as a babysitter and someone to pick up the kids from school, I would be up for the job.
I love to teach. I tutored math when I was in middle school. I was in 8th grade and I tutored a 6th grader. I enjoyed it very much because of the moments that happen when they finally understand what was confusing them. I live for those moments. Because then I know I am doing my job right.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
