West Va. Univ (Elect Eng)
I am a graduate electrical engineer from West Va. Univ. 1967. For the last seven years, I have tutored all math classes at a learning center in New Bern, NC. I also teach all the math sections for the SAT instruction. I still work there an average of eight hours per week. I am a Vietnam Vet and retired from the Air Force where I was a Navigator.
I have six grown children, five of which are ADD boys. Four of the boys are college graduates, three from UVA.
I tutor because I love working with kids and have many years' experience dealing with ADD kids.
I currently teach basic math, Alg I & II, Geom, Trig, SAT, ACT and an occasional Calculus student.

Russ is terrific - a natural born teacher even though he is a retired electrical engineer. He has a great rapport with my son and is very knowledgable of
the subject material.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
During the last seven years I have worked successfully with many ADHD students.
For many years I have worked with psychologists and the school system that our kids attended to insure their educational needs were met. Five of my boys have ADD.
I continue to have experience working with students with ADHD, Autism, and Aspergers.
