I trained teachers for over 20 years in all teaching fields. My expertise is in English, writing, math, beginning piano, voice, public and interpretive speech, and SAT scores. My Florida State University master's and my doctorate are in education, and I have post-graduate work in English from East Carolina University and post-graduate work in math from Florida State and Eastern Illinois University. I have taught on every grade level from 4th grade through 12th grade and in college undergraduate and graduate schools both in private and public institutions as well as other organizations for over 40 years. My experience is diverse, and I have won several awards for teaching creativity and excellence in various schools as well as acting awards voted by the public in community theater. I have started and developed several education, theater, and music programs. Also, I have written over 16 promotional multi-image presentations that have traveled nationwide with ensembles and other singing groups, including one 9 projector/3 screen presentation that was seen by over 1/4 million people. I was a national lecturer speaking in over 40 states, including Alaska, on various teaching subjects. I still teach writing on the college level and spend hours helping individual students privately. I have recently help high school students increase their SAT scores up to 300 points, which has allowed those students to apply to the prestigious colleges and universities of their choice. I have taught English for 30 years, and I trained English teachers for 21 of those years. I have a doctorate in education. My graduate work in English is from East Carolina University. I was offered a contract to teach writing there by the Dean of the graduate English department at that time, but I chose to stay more in this area. I still teach as adjunct at NC Wesleyan College.
I love American history and have taught it while teaching American literature. The two together fascinate me and excite me, and many middle school and high school students have been motivated to study and learn both because of that unique combination. I also have a unique and special view of history, in general, that definitely applies to American history.
I have taught everything from fourth grade through graduate school. I have also been principal of a K-8 school. My masters (from Florida State) was in elementary and secondary curricula and my doctorate is in higher education. I have written curricula for junior high, especially in math and speech, but I have also written and implemented curricula in several subject areas at the college level, including English, writing, and theater. I worked with a large textbook and curricula writing publisher for over 20 years, so I have the teaching experience and the writing experience to help elementary children learn.
I have taught math courses from 6th grade through college. I trained math teachers for over 21 years. I love the subject area and have tutored and helped many math students for over 20 years.
I have a graduate level education in English from East Carolina University as well as a good deal of education in English on the undergraduate level. I have taught and tutored in the following English fields for many years now: writing, grammar, literature, critical reading and all areas of English. I also trained successful English teachers who teach all over the world for over 20 years.
I spent several years training students in this area and helping them pass their GED. I have been privately hired to help several prepare for their GED's. I have worked both with general students and inmates to complete their GED.
I have been a grammarian for many years, teaching writing and syntax for 30 years. This field of study is very special and close to my heart, and I have spent many years working in the field.
I have had 17 years of piano with many of those lessons on the college on the college, undergraduate level, as well as several years playing piano with ensembles and singing groups both on the elementary and high school level, as well as the college level, and several years teaching piano lessons. My background is in classical music.
I have graduate degrees in education, both masters and doctorate. I trained teachers for over 20 years and have a great success rate in preparing them to teach various subjects in elementary, secondary and college education. I have helped those students prepare for the Praxis.
I taught algebra and pre-algebra on the middle school, high school, and college level for many years. I have been published in the Illinois State Teacher's Magazine concerning techniques I developed with math method teaching. I have helped many students with math, both in the classroom and one-on-one while tutoring.
I have proofread hundreds, if not thousands. of essays, including textbook and graduate research proofreading. I have helped a number of writers and students prepare various texts for printing, including my own work. Doctors and doctoral candidates have hired me to proofread their potential publications over the last few decades.
I did my senior, undergraduate recital in public speaking about Robert Frost. I have traveled over 15 years as a public speaker for education and other topics nationally, in almost every state. I teach public writing for public speeches and work with students who want to learn to speak as a businessman or any other type of public speaking. I have taught for over 40 years in public speaking.
I have a unique, private method of teaching phonetics that advances reading over most other methods.
I have a college minor in Bible. I have taught Bible and preached sermons from the Bible for more than 15 years. I traveled nationally as a guest preacher with ensembles from a christian college. I have taught the book of Proverbs many times. I have written many lesson plans and taught the life of David to college students. I have worked with Child Evangelism classes and have read the Bible through at least 20 times. I have also taught Bible studies to prisoners. My experience is varied.
I have taught reading analysis for a good number of years to college students.
I have studied various programs to help students practice the various areas on the SAT. I have also taught these topics for many years. I hold degrees from Florida State University and East Carolina University in education and writing and grammar.
I have a minor in interpretive speech and many years of theater acting and with traveling groups. I also traveled 15 years as a national lecturer to educational conventions. I have taught theater and speech classes for years on the high school and college level, including interpretive speech and public speaking.
I have always been an excellent speller. I also have a background in rules and policies for teaching spelling. In addition, I have a good deal experience helping students with various testing programs.
I have spent a good deal of time helping students with SAT vocabulary. Vocabulary is difficult to teach and difficult to grasp. It is also important to reading, comprehension, and testing.
