My name is Mike. I have been interested in languages, especially grammar and etymology, for forty years. As a speaker and writer of English all my life, I am an expert on the subject. I have tutored in ESL for the past five years, and greatly enjoy working with others to improve their English skills, which is definitely necessary for non-English speakers to get ahead in the workforce.
I also spent the last 12 years working with computers as a Windows system administrator for the federal government. I recently earned my A+ certification as a means to better myself and to better market my existing skills. I teach general computer skills, along with troubleshooting problems, to a wide range of age groups.
I am fairly flexible with scheduling and can endure a same-day cancellation. Tutoring sessions can be held at a public place such as a library or coffee shop, or in your home, as long as there is a male present if the student is a female. Honesty and integrity are of utmost importance.

Five-star service! Mike really cares about my son learning his subject. He shows up on time. He works very hard with my son while he is here. My son is also very happy working with Mike.
I became a born-again Christian in November 1978. Since then, I have been a serious student of the Bible, reading it frequently in my free time in high school. I went to Bible College for three semesters in 1982-83. I continue to read and study the Bible almost every day of my life. I have read every book at least 10 times. I have been a part of church youth group meetings over the past 10 years, helping to facilitate and oversee Bible studies.
I have played guitar for 35 years. I have taken 3 college music theory/performance courses. I recently completed a three-year tutelage in guitar with a teenage friend. I have played guitar numerous times in public as a solo singer-songwriter and as part of an ensemble. I am an avid listener and lover of music in general.
I have been a Microsoft Outlook user for 12 years, working in the IT field with the federal government from 2000 to 2013. During that stint, I became a train-the-trainer in Outlook 2003. I frequently helped others in configuring their archive folders/associated files for backup purposes.
I have worked with Microsoft Windows for 13 years as an IT specialist with the federal government, working mostly with Windows servers, from NT 4.0 to Windows 2008 R2. I have taken numerous government classes on the different operating systems. I also hold an A+ certificate from CompTIA, earned on July 1, 2013.
