Approved subjects are in bold.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

ADHD

I have successfully taught and tutored students with ADD and ADHD. Additionally, I have conducted behavioral observations and created 504 plans designed to promote (these) students' educational and social development. My master' in education focused on teaching students with mild to moderate disabilities.

Special Needs

I have a master's degree in education which focused on teaching students with mild to moderate disabilities. Additionally, I created a handbook for uncertified special education teachers as my thesis. I am a certified special education teacher and have provided technical supervision for general education teachers regarding students receiving services.

Study Skills

I have a master's degree in education, and have successfully taught study skills classes for middle school and high school students. I developed a tiered study skills elective course that provided a comprehensive example from which mentors based elective course proposals.
