I am a high energy people person. I taught middle school English last year and took this year off to raise my baby girl. I am so excited to be in the tutoring world now. I love the that as a tutor I can carefully plan and mold the lessons to fit the needs of the specific students. I couldn't do that as much in my middle school classes that averaged over 20 students. I have a knack for being able to explain and teach differently if a method doesn't seem to be working. I am flexible and very caring. I want to see my students succeed and grow personally.
One of the best things in the world as a teacher is to see your students thrive. I believe in setting reasonable goals so the students can achieve them and that is where the magic starts. As a student achieves these goals, one at a time, they start to believe in themselves and then the possibilities are endless. The world is their oyster and it all started with one simple goal that we accomplished together.
I believe in the power of determination. Once a student sees how successful they can be, they will strive to achieve more than ever before. I believe in the power of hard work. I believe in the power of teamwork. As we work together as a unit, the student does not feel isolated and alone. This can play a big role in achievement. Once a student feels isolated and alone, they shut down and it's near impossible to open them back up to the possibilities of their future. Even if that happens with your student, I still have a few tricks up my sleeve!
I would love to work with you. If you need any help at all, please don't hesitate to reach out! I cannot wait to see the endless possibilities the future has for you! In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I grew up as a pastor's kid in our local church. I am a firm believer in scripture. I studied the scriptures in depth at a christian bible college and I also taught middle school English at a private christian school.
