About Jennifer

My name is Jennifer. I live in Jacksonville, NC. I grew up in New Jersey. I have been a special education teacher since 2004. I began my teaching journey in New Jersey where I was a teacher assistant for a teacher of students with emotional disabilities. I grew to appreciate these students and their individual needs. As the years passed, I worked with all populations of students. From the student just needing a little extra push to do their best, to students needing specific behavioral plans to achieve success. I am currently tutoring in Jacksonville. I enjoy tutoring especially because I can form a bond with a student one on one instead of trying to figure them out in a class of 30 kids.

I enjoy the English language. Most common English rules don't "make sense" to most students. I enjoy showing them HOW and WHY they do make sense.

I am special education certified K-12, but I have my middle school language arts certification as well.

If you want a fun, laid back tutor who likes to incorporate games into learning, contact me today!

Approved subjects are in bold.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
