My name is Parks and I am currently a student at First Flight High School. Some of my hobbies are fishing, music and the occasional round of golf. I am planning on attending college for a B.S. in Chemical Engineering and have been accepted to Clemson University and University of South Carolina. I am also awaiting acceptance letters from University of Georgia, University of Florida and NC State University.
In 2015 I attended the OCEANS ’15 conference sponsored by the Marine Technology Society and Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers in Washington D.C. At this conference I presented and published a paper that addressed the 2014 red algal bloom near Pea Island Wildlife Reserve and received valued praise from the scientific community.
As an AIG (Academically or Intellectually Gifted) student I understand the amount of work it takes in order to be successful in difficult Honors and AP courses. Plentiful experience and above average performance in all classes has taught me essential preparation skills for class and exams. If you are looking to prepare for an exam, improve your grades or simply get ahead in your classes, I would be glad to help you.
After being placed in advanced math classes in middle school, I have continued my education in mathematics throughout high school despite meeting the credit requirement. In my junior year of high school I passed both the AP AB Calculus and AP BC Calculus exams and I am currently studying AP Statistics. Throughout my years as a high school student I have been able to grasp math concepts quite easily. Explaining difficult concepts to peers has furthered my understanding of math as well as developed my teaching skills.
My love for science is apparent when I say that my future goals include a doctorate degree in chemistry. Although I may still have a long way to go, I would enjoy to pass on my current knowledge of everything from cell biology to thermochemistry. After taking years of advanced science I have developed a few skills of my own that can be very helpful to struggling and excelling students alike.
As a high school student I understand how classes and exams are expected to be completed. I can work with any student of any age to help improve problem solving skills and material memorization. If you have any questions at all please feel free to contact me, I am very flexible with session times and locations. I look forward to learning alongside any one who is brave enough to ask! In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
