Bio

I'm a long-time self-taught guitarist and singer, and love helping students get past hurdles that are holding them back and help them avoid developing bad habits in their playing. I like to focus on teaching students how to get the music they imagine into their fingers and out of their instrument. I personally enjoy bluegrass, folk, blues and progressive rock.

I have been intrigued with compositional concepts like inversion, retrograde, structure - like fugues, etc, chordal inversions and variations, substitutions.I love learning (and teaching) chordal structure, song structure, musical notation, as well as MIDI/DAW compositional tools/apps.

I have been fascinated with apps/computer software for mastering this skill and am always evaluating the latest releases. Pre-calculus Help

Scott tutored my 11th grade daughter and helped her gain a better understanding of some pre-calculus concepts. He presented her with some tips to remember formulas and was very patient. His instruction was clear and helpful.

We worked with Scott over the course of a few years to assist my son through challenges in high school math.
