I love teaching and sharing the joy of reading and writing with others. I can explain a subject in several different ways in order for students to understand. I love seeing the success in a students face when they comprehend a subject matter completely and then they are much more confident about the subject and in themselves. I have been teaching for eight years. I graduated magna cum laude at Arizona State University where I attained dual Bachelors degrees in Secondary Education English specialization and English in 2006, and a Masters degree in Secondary Education Reading specialization in 2009 from Arizona State University. I have taught English in high school, English and Reading in middle school, and Read 180 and reading interventions at Elementary and middle school levels. I have certifications for English 6-12, Reading Specialist K-12, and Elementary. Additionally, I have taught state assessment preparatory classes at high school level and students were very successful at passing the assessments after my class.
I specialize in tutoring English, Reading, and assessments such as ACT, SAT, and state exams. I assign homework to be completed in order to assess growth. I have a 24 hour cancellation policy.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
