About Mary

If you would like for your child to be taught by a highly experienced instructional specialist, then I am the tutor you seek. 31 years of experience with elementary school students have provided opportunities to work with students in varying learning conditions, including exceptional children. As a tutor, I will assess your child, determine the areas of focus and begin working to address academic weaknesses in the identified area.

Parental input regarding program goals is of utmost importance. As a collaborative learning support team, we will decide if homework help is our primary focus or if we will use literacy and math assessment data to address weakness in the learning foundation. A combination of instructional strategies will be identified and deployed to begin rebuilding the foundation for future success.

I am a NC Highly Qualified elementary school teacher and principal. I have 31 years of experience in elementary school curriculum and leadership. In recent years, I have attended training sessions provided by the district and state regarding phonics instruction, assessment and effective instructional practices.

For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
