As a home-school mother of three boys, I understand the benefit of one-on-one tutoring with a student. Both my education and work experience focused on math and science, therefore, I am very comfortable tutoring chemistry, life sciences, and math (up to Algebra II). In addition to teaching my own children, I have tutored other students in high-school math and chemistry. For three years, I taught a high-school chemistry lab in a home-school co-op with approximately five students each year.
Tutoring allows me the chance to instill confidence in each student by helping them reach their individual potential. A student's sense of accomplishment encourages them to tackle more difficult tasks as they mature through life.
In college, I studied inorganic, organic, and biochemistry. I also worked in two chemistry labs: an industrial coatings lab and a quality control lab for a manufacturing company. I also studied biology and microbiology and minored in genetics. Lastly, I worked in a cytogenetics lab preparing karyotypes.
Having taught my three sons from pre-school through high-school, I understand what is necessary to build the foundation of education during the elementary years. I taught each one of my children the basic 3 r's: reading, writing and arithmetic as well as social studies and science. I can also do the same for your child.
I am typically available Monday through Saturday 12 pm- 8 pm and I can travel to meet students at a local library. My base rate is $30/hour. Please contact me for any questions.

Thank you Katrina! My daughter was struggling with Math 2 and you helped her understand the material very clearly - she is much more confident in her ability to complete her work!
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I have a BS in Biological Sciences. I worked in both a chemistry quality control lab for a manufacturing company and a cytogenetics lab. Since then, I have tutored 3 students in high-school chemistry.
