I am Candice. I work as a tutor currently and I am involved in the community via volunteering. I graduated with a Biology and Chemistry degree from ECU in 2011. I have tutored before and enjoy trying to find different ways that work for each individual to learn and truly understand the material. If you're willing to take the time and try to learn, I will do all that I can to help you understand what it is that may be troubling you. I would like to help make your learning experience fun for you.
I have a great outgoing personality and get along with just about anyone, I like to laugh, smile and just try to enjoy life. I like to give back as much as I can and tutoring is just one of the many ways I try to help out. If you ever have questions please feel free to ask. I do have transportation and will be willing to travel.
I am skilled in Math (all the way up to calculus), Biology, Chemistry, and with Computer programs as well. I took some computer classes in high school and at ECU, along with microeconomics and accounting at ECU.
I hope to work with you soon. Hi,

Specifically, Candice helped me dissect Short run and Long run economic forecasts and formulas; about 7 to be exact. Absolutely awesome tutor, and hope she is willing to help me again in the future!
Oh and I got a 100% on my Chapter 5 test tonight :)
She taught my daughter chemistry, she is very patient. She makes sure my daughter understands the subject and gives her practice work
Candice was there on time and ready to help my daughter. This first session was kind of a feeler, for her to get a chance to see my daughter's text book and notes and stuff. My daughter also was able to talk freely to Candice and talk about her challenges in the classroom. Most importantly, my daughter says she likes Candice. That means a lot because it will enable her to open up more and the tutoring sessions will be effective every time. I continue to truly appreciate Candace. She did an awesome job tutoring my daughter in biology last semester, and she is already doing an awesome job tutoring her in math 2/geometry. Candace always goes the extra mile to make sure Jessica fully understands her homework, and talks her through everything. Great tutor!!
Candice works well with my granddaughter. She is friendly and patient with her. The two are off to a good start!
Candice does a great job of explaining algebra to my son in a way he can understand! His grade has improved by two letter grades already! It was do great for him to come home after his session and say, "I finally understand this!" It's saving us so much anxiety.
Love my tutoring sessions! Patient, knowledgeable, and good at creating a laid back environment. Would definitely recommend her to anyone struggling with Chemistry!!
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
Anatomy and Physiology are so intriguing to me that during all of my schooling I have taken 5 different anatomy courses. I have taken 4 in college that all but one included dissections. In college I was also able to take gross anatomy which we were able to study and learn hands on via cadavers dissections. I willingly with no problems pulled long hours in the lab studying my books which I still have currently. Being able to know and see the inner workings of the human body is fascinating to me.
I have taken basic genetics in high school and was purely fascinated with the different mixtures that are possible from a simple Punnett square to the more complex dihybrids crosses. I then furthered my knowledge with the subject in college in minor ways via my Biology courses and also in my actual Genetics course I took. I helped some of my fellow classmates in high school and college understand the ratios between which dominate and recessive traits would be possible from each respective cross. In class my teacher/professors would put up a challenging cross for extra credit or just for fun and I was the student that got excited and always did them.
I am a biology and chemistry major with Bachelor's in both subjects. I have taken Organic chemistry including a lab with it as well. This particular class was actually my favorite chemistry course out of the general, inorganic, and physical chemistry. During my organic chemistry course I did help a fellow student pass the course in the areas he was having problems with. I like the nomenclature portion and just drawing different compounds and naming them.
