I am an avid artist, and enjoy working in a wide variety of media. Writing is a passion of mine, also. Mastering a large vocabulary makes living richer and deeper, because one has the ability to be more elegantly descriptive of experiences. Providing a student with a spark which can ignite the desire to expand their interests and knowledge is a privilege and a joy. I have taught students in nursery school, at the university level, Alzheimer's patients, Autistic students, women in a substance abuse program in the prison in Durham, the elderly, teens, church groups; and establishing rapport is my specialty. My enthusiasm is infectious.
My love of literature, vocabulary and writing is deep and wide. My own verbal SAT scores were in the 99th percentile, and I thrive on challenges.
