East Carolina University, Greenville, NC (Elementary Education)
I am an elementary education graduate from East Carolina University. I graduated in December 2009, and began teaching January 2010. My year long internship was completed in fourth grade, yet I taught fifth grade from January 2010-June 2015. During that time, I have taught all subjects, however I spent three years teaching only Math and Science. I am very familiar with End of Grade Testing and strategies to help students in the testing areas.
Although teaching is my true passion, I am no longer able to do so. I have a two year old son, and have since gone back to school. I am currently in school to pursue a career that will allow me to spend more time with my family at night and on the weekends. At the moment, I am offering tutoring services to help pay for school expenses and daycare.
I have great experience and complete lessons in common core math. I also taught and tested on 5th grade science - essential standards curriculum.
I have a BS degree in Elementary Education and taught 5th grade for five years.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
