East Carolina University (Political Science)
I am currently studying Political Science and History at East Carolina University. My fields of study are Russian and Western European politics, and Western European history. I have experience in tutoring through classes I have taken and am willing to adapt to any needs of the student. The approach I have to tutoring includes going through course material, immersive readings, and through solving problem sets.
What I love about tutoring is that it allows me to help others find alternative avenues of approach to a problem at hand. This allows the individual to have a tool to use to be able to attempt to solve any future problem that arises even if it is slightly different from what was practiced. Tutoring is a way to give confidence to the student and inspire them to enjoy the subject to the fullest. By using inspiration it allows the student to no longer view homework as work but as an enjoyable activity.
I have studied European History for 8 years, focusing most heavily on the French Revolution and the revolutions of Russia. This is an area of study which I am passionate about and wish to help others to understand more clearly.
In the area of Political Science, I am familiar with how campaigns and elections occur both domestically and in Europe with more time studying in the European field.
I have experience working with Autistic children through the Autism Society of North Carolina. I can work through homework with the student and help them progress in goals set forth. Any further information can be provided upon request.
I have experience with a broad scope of individuals and wish to continue tutoring in the area. I am currently studying Political Science and History at East Carolina University. My fields of study are Russian and Western European politics, and
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I have worked with children, teens, and adults with autism for two years through the Autism Society of North Carolina. I am a care specialist with training in seizure protocol, first aid, therapeutic holds, and in environment redirection. Through this training and the experience of working with individuals across the spectrum I have encountered most situations, though expect new ones to arise for me to work through with the individual and their family.
I am a current senior at East Carolina University studying Political Science. I will have completed all course work in the field in May of this year. I have campaigned for office in clubs at both East Carolina University as well as Pitt Community College. With this experience I am able to help others to understand the field and know when I am unable to help further the knowledge of the student.
