Elizabeth City State UNiversity (Education)
I am a graduate of Elizabeth City State University. During my tenure at ECSU I was given the opportunity to shadow multiple teachers. I also began substitute teaching. Since I graduated, in 2013, I have taught English Language Arts and Math in grades 7 and 8. I recently began teaching Geometry, Algebra II, and GED courses at Pitt Community College. I possess a North Carolina State Teaching License in the subjects of Middle and Secondary Grades English Education as well as English as a Second Language. My license means that I am certified to teach anywhere between grades 6-12.
My passion for education comes first from me being a lifelong learner. There are so many answers to everyday life mysteries right in our pocket. Allow me to elaborate: being a lifelong learner one of my favorite things to do is pull my cell phone out of my pocket and Google things. I love learning and I love teaching people.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
