Good day to all! My name is Shawn and I am a former Physical Science, General Chemistry, and AP Chemistry instructor for the high school level. I currently teach adults with disabilities at a local community college and in 2012 received my Master's in Adult Education. I am now pursuing a doctorate degree in higher education and administration. I enjoy tutoring and teaching science; therefore, anyone that chooses me as their tutor will end up with a rich and rewarding learning experience. I love to do lots and lots of examples in my tutorials so that students can see the many different ways a problem can be approached and solved correctly. Come ready to work- come ready to learn!

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
Chemistry and Chemical Education were my majors in college! I love to teach Chemistry! I am a former high school chemistry teacher that enjoys helping students navigate through the tough areas that chemistry has.
I feel that I am qualified to tutor in physical science because I am a former physical science high school teacher. Physical Science is nothing more than a basic mix of chemistry and a little earth science. When I taught Honors Physical Science at the high school level, I had 80% passing rate on the state end of course tests. Because I am already approved and qualified in Chemistry, physical science is not that hard for me to tutor in.
