Western Carolina University (Middle Grades Ed)
Hi, my name is Chris and I currently live and teach in Caldwell County, NC. I am a recent graduate of Western Carolina University with a degree in Middle Grades Education. My concentration areas are language arts and social studies, and I am certified to teach both in North Carolina Public Schools. In addition, I have experience tutoring elementary and middle school students in both language arts and math.
My mission is to help any student who may be struggling or need extra attention grow his or her skills and confidence in the areas of language arts and math. Whether a student is trying to prepare for EOGs, or may need a little extra practice outside of the school curriculum, I want to be there to provide them with that support. My favorite part about working with students, either in a tutoring role or school atmosphere, is providing them with opportunities to be successful. Nothing is better than seeing the satisfaction on a student's face after he or she has reached a point of success.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
