Hello Students and Parents,
I am a mother of a child with a learning disability so I completely understand your struggles. I can help, but you have to be willing to take the time necessary to grasp ideas and concepts. Sometimes things seem too hard to understand and that's where I come in. I like to break things down into parts with the idea that if you learn the parts then you get the whole concept. Again, you have to be willing to learn and that takes time. I can't be there to take your tests, but I can help you understand your homework and prepare you for the test. Don't wait until you are ready to give up! Let me help now.
Let me tell you a little about myself: I am 44 years old and I am taking a course at the community college that I need in order to apply to graduate school. Yeah, I know: I'm older than your mom and dad and I go to school! That is just how it has worked out for me. I have discovered that my fellow students look to me for help because I study as I go instead of cramming it all in at the last minute. I can teach you how to do that, too. Sometimes, I may have to review the material first in order to help you understand it and if I encounter something I don't understand, then I will figure it out by asking your teacher for help, or one of my associates. I am never afraid to ask for help and I don't want you to feel that way either.
I am willing to work with you after school and on the weekends if you need me. Tutoring is expensive and I won't waste your parents' money. That means that when we get together, it's all work, but you will learn. I look forward to working with you! Hello Students and Parents,

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
