Sometimes I wonder why I did not take up teaching instead of being a professional accountant. I have been hearing about WyzAnt for quite a while now, and I finally decided to the complete the necessary paperwork in order to work for them.
I love assisting students in order to further their goals and aspirations educationally. I do one-to-one tutoring of students or tutor small groups either at the state library or at their school and university library.
I specialize in teaching undergraduate financial and cost accounting, math, essay writing and algebra. In some cases, I may be persuaded to teach graduate accounting. I can also instruct in the teaching of certain accounting software such as Quickbooks and Peachtree.
Tutoring accounting software is a hands-on event. Data for imaginary business organizations will be used and the student will be encouraged to post live after a short explanation of what the particular module pertains to.
Most of the students I tutor are within the 18- 25 age groups. Tutoring younger students younger than 18 is done in the Library with a parent or guardian accompanying them. On occasion if requested, I may tutor them in their houses. On rare occasions, I may get a request to tutor older students doing their master's degree.
In addition to the subjects stated above,I can instruct a student in essay outline and article review using the APA and other style of writing.
Whenever I have a student to tutor, I have a short discussion with the students as a means of ascertaining his or her strengths and weaknesses. Then I determine what help the student wants and the time frame required. A short explanation of the subject is presented by me and examples are done jointly and then separately by the student. In order to ensure that the student has understood current and past lessons, I may from time to time give homework assignments.
My 2 hour cancellation policy is flexible and could be increased on a case-by-case basis
