My name is Lacey, and I am a former teacher turned stay-at-home mom. I am currently available for tutoring in language arts, including reading, writing, grammar, spelling, and vocabulary. My experience includes teaching language arts and special education at the middle school level and teaching adult education courses in the GED program at Wake Tech. I have also worked as an assistant teacher in a private Montessori school with preschool and elementary students. I have a Bachelor's degree in psychology and completed my Master's in education with teacher certification in secondary English/language arts.
After spending time in various learning environments, I've found that my strength as an educator is in working one-on-one with students. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
