I'm Melayna! I am a stay-at-home wife and mom of two boys. During college, I discovered an additional love for literature, and I was hired to be an Embedded Tutor and Supplemental Instructor for multiple Literature and Anthropology courses. This is where I found my love for helping other students grow in their knowledge and understanding of subject matter.

Due to a permanent nerve injury in my right arm, I was unable to pursue a career in interpreting, and I decided to switch gears, focusing my work on two areas: writing and tutoring. I have tutored on various virtual platforms as well as in person. Including my college experience, I have a total of five years of tutoring under my belt. I am excited to work with new students, both online and in person, so I can help as many students as possible excel in their academic careers.

I am proficient-fluent in ASL, and I have experience tutoring a deaf-blind student. I have tutored English and Literature for four years. I am a journalist for Yellow Scene Magazine in Colorado, a copyeditor for Ascension Press, and a blog content writer for multiple blogs. My English tutoring abilities range across all grade levels.

Throughout my five years working as a tutor, I have worked with students ranging from six years old to seniors in college. My tutoring approach is always to meet the students where they are at, determine their preferred learning style, and tailor every activity and session towards their unique way of learning. I am a firm believer that people cannot be standardized, so you can be at ease that I will acknowledge and encourage all of my students for their unique qualities. My mission is to help my students gain the skills and knowledge they need to excel in every part of their academic career and beyond!
