Fayettevile State University (Social Sciences ed)
Dear prospective student,
I am an experienced instructor who has taught in a variety of settings, both stateside and abroad. I hold a degree with a now expired stateside teaching license in Social Sciences, history, and education. I once taught an EC stateside class for three years, where part of my duties was to produce my own teaching materials; meaning books, tests, exercises, etc, since the school could not afford these. I have also taught ESL in a couple of overseas locations, such as Guayaquil Ecuador at the school, Espirito Santo, for six months. I have also just recently returned from China from six months of teaching. I taught ESL there as well, and I am TEFL certified through Oxford Seminars.
My teaching methods in general as designed to be both simple and straight forward. I take the material at hand, reduce it down into it's basic components, give instruction along those lines until the student truly knows the material at that basic level, then simply build right on up into the next level, carefully giving support to each level by both briefing and reviewing before we progress farther. Obviously, the idea here is that by the time we make it to the top of the material level, we will have mastered it as far as it can take us. I also enjoy making the progression both fun and entertaining as well as instructional and informative. What I mean here primarily is that I enjoy making games out of the material. This tends to make learning fun and very desirable, so I have found in my experience...and that makes all of us happy and contented! Dear prospective student,

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I once did volunteer work for an archaeologist. I also hold a B.S. degree in social sciences with a concentration in history. I have a great interest in this subject and have been exposed to it in a variety of settings, including my being raised on a farm and finding huge numbers of artifacts. As a result, I have done a great amount of research on my own.
I majored in Social sciences, where I received my B.S. degree. This subject falls within that list. I have also been known to sub teach in more than a few bible studies classes.
