So, you didn't survive the NCLEX! Often students need additional tutoring to pass the NCLEX. Three major factors contribute to failure to pass the NCLEX: a knowledge deficit, not having practiced good NCLEX questions prior to the exam, and poor preparation from a personal standpoint. As a dedicated tutor with a Master's in Nursing Education, I'm here to help you be successful on your next attempt to pass the NCLEX. I've helped many students since I began tutoring with WyzAnt in 2013. I have 27 years experience as a intensive care unit (ICU) Registered Nurse (RN), 2 years as a clinical nursing instructor and 12 years experience as a Professional Development Specialist. I have also served as Director of Clinical Development (creating training programs for nurses).

Need help surviving that first year as a nursing student or new nurse? I'm here to help with that too! Your first year does not have to be torture if you know how to navigate the system and how to study efficiently. Allow me to help you be successful in the career path you chose. You put a lot of effort and money into college. Learn tools that will help you be successful in the field of nursing.

When I first work with a student or new nurse, I will need to know how you best learn material. Are you a visual learner (see it and get it), a tactile learner (feel it or do it) or an audio (hear it) learner or a combination of both? Knowing this will help me devise a plan to assist you in gaining the information you need to be successful. I am interested in helping the student who desires to be successful in all areas of life and is willing to do the work to get there.

Feel free to contact me if you are ready to get started.

I am licensed in the State of NC as a Registered Nurse. I hold a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing from Chapel Hill, NC. I have a Master's Degree from Duke University (North Carolina) in Nursing Education. In addition to my degrees, I am Board Certified in Nursing Education. These degrees qualify me to teach the components of the NCLEX. I worked 6 years for Cape Fear Valley Health System as an Education Coordinator. Part of my job there included tutoring nurses who failed the NCLEX the first time, to take the NCLEX a second time. I am currently employed at Miller-Motte College (NC) as adjunct faculty teaching Pharmacology, Medical Clinical Assisting, Medical Laboratory and Procedures, Anatomy & Physiology, Medical Terminology, Emergency Procedures, and Medical Review,etc.. The Medical Review class consists of preparing the student to take their board exam. Much of the content covered in this medical review class is the same content covered on the NCLEX exam.

Couldn't have done it without Susan!

Susan is extremely knowledgeable. She taught me both content and practice that I did not get in nursing school. Susan is tough and very thorough and that is exactly what you want in order to pass the NCLEX. I had failed 5 previous times using other study programs. I was really at a point where I did not think I would ever pass it. Each of my tutoring sessions provided me with quality information that allowed me to not only improve in content but also how to break down the question to know exactly what it was asking. Susan is very encouraging and a pleasure to work with. I would encourage anyone out there that has failed the NCLEX multiple times to use Susan. She will make your dream become a reality! I spent a year and 3 months trying to pass the NCLEX and now I can finally call myself a Registered Nurse!

She will have your NCLEX-RN results say PASS

Susan is a super awesome tutor! The very best of the best!!! I failed my NCLEX-RN 8 times before I started tutoring with Susan. After working with Susan for three or four months I took my NCLEX-RN and PASSED!!!! Susan is very knowledgeable of the NCLEX-RN test plan. She does great assessment on your test taking strategies and your Nursing knowledge. She finds your strengths and your weaknesses, she makes your strong areas stronger and, she makes you thrive where your the weakest.

SHE HELPED ME PASS!!!

Susan worked with me at least once a week for three months, while I prepared to take the NCLEX for my third time. She was very patient and flexible with my hectic schedule. She always worked with me on any aspect of studying she felt I needed. I lost a lot of faith in myself that I could pass after failing for the second time, but after a few lessons with Susan, my motivation was back where it needed to be. After many hours of working with Susan, I PASSED THE NCLEX IN 88 QUESTIONS!!!! I couldn't have done it without her. She is an excellent tutor and I would recommend her to anyone struggling to pass the NCLEX like I was!

Susan is very patient and shows great enthusiasm while tutoring. She worked with me to identify both my strengths and weaknesses. Susan helped me focus on important information, especially in pharmacology. Susan also focused on test taking strategies, which helped me break down each question and focus on key terms. I met with Susan once or twice a week for a month and passed the NCLEX in 75 questions. Susan is GREAT!!
