Elon University (Social Sciences)
Hi there! I'm Zoe, I'm a junior here at Elon University currently majoring in Human Service Studies and minoring in Psychology, Child Development and Criminology! Originally from Boston, MA, I have worked in over five different schools with children aged 3-16 helping with reading, writing, elementary math, and public speaking. I pride myself in my enthusiasm, patience, and understanding.
If chosen to be your tutor, I promise to be prompt, flexible, understanding, but still keep you on a track that produces success. I am an avid reader with strong organizational skills, and work very well with others. I am professional but understand that learning can be fun, and will work to make the process of learning creative and interesting. As a student of child development, I understand how learning differs from child to child and I will try to make the tutoring process both personalized and straightforward.
Tutoring is more than just a job-it is a hobby! I love working with children and students, and putting these college classes to use! I am easy to reach and flexible with scheduling. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
