I work with students and families to build skills and understanding of Math, Science and even Language Arts, and can work with you at your home or at a library or other public place. I can also explain strategies and progress to parents, so you can further support your student in his or her progress. I look forward to working with you.

Mr.Samuel is extremely knowledgeable, friendly and patient tutor. My son is very happy learning science from him. I highly recommend him without any hesitation. 5 stars
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I have a Masters in Math Education Kindergarten - 8th grade from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. I have taught 6th grade Mathematics for over 10 years to both students who were on or above grade level, and to those for whom Mathematics was difficult. I learned to present Math conceptually, using hands-on manipulatives, pictorially, with students learning to draw pictures to represent the concepts they were learning, as well as more abstractly, where students learned to work with the numerical representation, or equations of what they needed to reason and calculate. I have worked with both Learning Disabled students as well as students who were Academically and Intellectually Gifted (AIG), and have my AIG certification, having completed my course of study with Duke University, School of Education. I can help your student learn to love Mathematical Reasoning.
