Hello!

My name is Shannon and I am currently a medical student with a passion for education. I have been tutoring and mentoring students for over 5 years now, and I consider my students' successes to be some of my greatest accomplishments. I earned my B.S. in Biology Summa Cum Laude and with University Honors from the University of Alabama and am currently working towards my M.D. at the University of North Carolina. My favorite subjects to teach are math, science, and test prep (SAT, ACT, and MCAT).

As someone not far removed from high school and college myself, I am uniquely able to connect with my students and meet them where they are to propel them toward success. I realize that math and science can be tricky for many students, but I strive to break concepts down into their manageable parts that give my students a firm foundation for their current course and any future courses to follow. I also have extensive experience with standardized testing and can teach both concepts and test-taking strategy for the ACT, SAT, and MCAT.

I always create a positive learning environment for all of my students, leading to results in any subject. Several of my students have now earned competitive academic scholarships and admission to selective universities. I look forward to working with you and your student!
