Welcome to my WyzAnt profile, and thank you for your interest! Here I have the opportunity to give you a brief overview of my credentials and my overall approach as a tutor.
I graduated from a state school in New York with a Bachelors of Science in Management Information Systems. I learned various programming techniques and languages while there. I worked for about a year after graduating and then went to the University of South Carolina where I obtained a Masters of Science in Health Administration. It is here that I first learned and used SAS as a programming language.
Though I'm new to WyzAnt, I have now been programming with SAS for over 10 years in the clinical research field, though I just recently started working at the SAS Institute. I used a few different modules of SAS in my everyday work (BASE,MACRO,STAT). I have experience doing some mentoring work with new employees at past jobs and at my present job. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I worked in the CRO field for 10 years, where I used SAS everyday to produce tables, listings, figures, datasets, and validate all of those items. I currently work for SAS Institute, Inc. where I implement solutions using various SAS products.
I have attended local, regional, and national SAS User Group conferences.
I have programmed in SAS 8.2, 9.1-9.4 mainly on the PC, but have used UNIX SAS in the past.
