About Ellen

I am a US citizen and native English speaker. One of my greatest joys is to see a student be able to speak in English the way that he or she wants to speak, so that communications are equal and open between people.

My recent master's degree is in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL), including two practica and a thesis. Moreover, I have consulted and trained professionals flying into Boston for customized, intensive trainings within short timeframes, for more than 6 years. For all of ESL/EFL, I have been an instructor and teacher for 10+ years. My objective is to see the best potential of every individual be realized in skills and strategies that are the most meaningful to each individual client/student to achieve his/her goals.

My bachelor's degree in Education, with the additional speech and language pathology, included special education. I have been a high school school studies, social, and jobs coach/trainer for young adults diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder (ASD). Finally, I am a Miracle League volunteer assisting young adults with ASD.

I respect every person’s beliefs. The spiritual meaning found in religious writings can be inspiring, and is beyond their historical accounts. It is the spiritual interpretation of the Bible far more than higher-lower perceptions of life of individuals throughout the Bible or mere human doctrines from 19 Christian denominations, which is the most important. I took a course in Bible studies and have been a personal scholar of the Bible and of many recognized scriptural reference books for many years. If someone simply wants to learn how to read the Bible through the English language or to discover its deeper spiritual meaning above its historical chronologies, I am pleased to provide this. The most important, as a reader, is what it means to you.

Approved subjects are in bold.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Autism

My bachelor's degree in Education and speech pathology/audiology included special education. I have been a high school school studies, social, and jobs coach/trainer for young adults diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder (ASD). Finally, I am a Miracle League volunteer assisting young adults with ASD.

Bible Studies

I took a course in Bible studies and have been an avid Bible explainer and scholar in many recognized reference books for many years. It is the spiritual interpretation of the Bible and its positive effects in one's life, far more than higher-lower perceptions of life of individuals throughout the Bible or mere human doctrines from 19 Christian denominations, which is the most important.

English

My master's degree is in TESOL, which was part of the Department of English. We were required to take graduate school English courses. I have also taught English, for both classes and private students.

ESL/ESOL

I have a masters degree in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL), including two practica and a thesis. Moreover, I have consulted and trained professionals flying into Boston for customized, intensive trainings within short timeframes for more than 6 years. For all of ESL/EFL, I have been an instructor and teacher for 10+ years. My greatest desire is to see the best potential of every individual be realized in skills and strategies that are the most meaningful to each individual client/student to achieve his/her goals.

Microsoft Word

I have a master's degree in education requiring a written thesis using Microsoft Word and APA standards. Additionally, I have been an editor of multimillion dollar proposals for an international company, using Microsoft Word extensively in copyediting, proofreading, substantial editing, and developmental editing. As a college instructor, I use Microsoft Word for one of my jobs.
