University of Michigan
I tested out of General Chemistry and received a 4 on the AP chemistry test as a Junior.
I would like to be a tutor because I find working one-on-one with someone is the best way to learn difficult material. I am a very patient teacher and I also know how difficult a subject is by just reading the book by yourself. I made the dean's list in GRCC before I transferred to the University of Michigan.
I've taken Organic Chemistry courses and also passed out of General Chemistry courses as well. I tested out of General Chemistry and received a 4 on the AP chemistry test as a Junior.

Our initial session was "AMAZING"! Before I met Alex, my self-esteem was sinking rapidly. I just knew I was going to fail Chemistry. Alex's confidence and subject matter expertise have renewed my confidence and I am looking forward to participating in class! Alex knows his "stuff" and can break it down where it is easily understood!
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I have taken both Organic Chemistry 1 at the University of Michigan and 3.5 both courses. I have years of experience tutoring Organic Chemistry 1 to students both at the University level and the Community College level. I can fully describe why certain reactions work and other reactions do not work. I took the lab for Organic Chemistry 1 and 2 and helped other students succeed in the course by explaining material in a manner that they could understand.
