Dear Future Client,
My name is Byron. I'm a husband, father of two, and a writer by profession. To give you a little background on my qualifications to tutor Writing and Grammar, my writing experience spans over twenty years in both the literary and technical writing fields. My first fiction novel was published by Written World Communications in 2012, and is now being reviewed for possible adaptation to film. My second novel is represented by the D4EO Literary Agency for future publication. I've published several short works in commercial and academic venues, and I’m currently working on my third novel of fiction. I'm also contracted as an associate editor for ALVA Press in Poughkeepsie, N.Y. On the technical side, I've spent over twenty-five years in a corporate/technical capacity, and bring the discipline and structure of that environment to my tutoring methods. I hold a degree with the University of Maryland, and a certification in Sixth Sigma Green Belt with Villanova University.
From a literary perspective, my tutoring qualifications encompass subjects such as editing (line, copy, developmental, proofreading), general grammar, writing techniques(essay, short form, long form, fiction, non-fiction), manuscript styles (CMS, MLA, APA), literary history (1800-present), reading (English), as well as Microsoft Word usage and computer fundamentals. From a business perspective, I'm qualified in written personnel reviews, quarterly reports, MS PowerPoint presentations, technical writing, and customer briefings/de-briefings.
My first step in tutoring a client is understanding their needs and goals so we can lay out a logical plan to obtain them successfully. I do not believe in teaching by pressure or unpleasantness, but by finding each student’s method of learning and engaging it in a positive way. I guarantee professional, efficient and timely results.
Thank you for your consideration. Dear Future Client,
