North Carolina State University (2 BSs) (Geology, Meteorology)
UNC Charlotte (Master's)
As made obvious by my educational background, I enjoy the earth sciences. I do have specific subjects within them that I study now, but my past coursework has required that I learn about all of realms of physical science, including earth science, astronomy, physics and chemistry.
In the past I have tutored students in high school and middle school math. Additionally, I frequently proofread papers for people when asked to do so. I find that writing and math skills are very important, especially in the scientific fields I have experience in. While I personally prefer learning through hands-on and visual experiences, I would be willing to adapt to different learning styles to help students gain the best results from my services.
I've had to take many advanced math courses in college with require a basic understanding of algebra in order to complete the problems.
I have a Bachelor's degree in geology and in meteorology. Now I am continuing my education towards a Master's in Earth Science, therefore my background in the physical sciences is strong.
In science fields, it is extremely important that you are able to clearly communicate and present your results. In order to do so and look credible, my vocabulary, grammar and writing skills must be sharp.
Please message me if you're struggling in any of my listed subjects or if you need someone to help refresh you on these topics. As of now I have a fairly open schedule, especially on weekends. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
