I am originally from the coast, Wilmington NC. I have taught reading several years ago before working as a Director Secretary for a Housing Authority.
When the organization had to downsize due to budget cut I return to education as a teacher assistant. I moved to the Charlotte area to be close to my daughter and her family.
I am currently employed with CMS as a teacher assistant and currently studying the Praxis to become a full time teacher.
When I moved to Charlotte and was hired ad a math tutor. I have always enjoy reading because you can lose yourself in another world. Reading allow you to use your creativity through drawings and painting.
I enjoy tapping into the young minds and allowing them to be creative. Utilizing what a scholar already know and with new material give them the opportunity to use their imagination.
I reared a son who was ADHD. He was the reason I seeked a degree in Special Education. Once I begin my path as an educator and a mom with a child with ADHD gave me an opportunity to better teach my child and understand the concept of what is was going through. When I would be in conference I had a real say so of what he needed to be successful in school.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
