I am a special education teacher qualified to teach both special and general education. I have a Bachelor's & Master's Degree in Special Education. I am originally from Chicago and just relocated to Charlotte where I now teach in the Fort Mill. I enjoy teaching I work hard to find new ways to help struggling students learn. I love my students and have high expectations for their growth.
I tutor in math, reading and writing. I strive to get to know my students so that I can choose a tutoring program that matches their needs. I look forward to the opportunity to get to know your student and help them reach their full potential!
I love math! I realize that not everyone learns math the same way and I am always looking for new ways to teach a concept so that it makes sense to my students.
My main focus when teaching students to read is to ensure that their love of reading remains constant and does not diminish when it gets hard. I have been trained in the Wilson Reading Program which is a fantastic research-based curriculum that teaches students reading strategies and decoding skills.
I have both my Bachelor's and Master's in Special Education. I am a patient teacher with high expectations for my students.
Spelling is all about listening for sounds and seeing patterns. I work with students by playing games and providing strategies to help them become better spellers.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I have a Master's and Bachelor's in special education. I am also trained in the Wilson Reading Program and Wilson Fundations (their phonics program) which is a research-based curriculum that helps students decode and use strategies while reading. I am a patient teacher who works hard to get to know my students and has high expectations.
