University of North Carolina at Charlotte (International Studie)
I graduated from University of North Carolina at Charlotte with honors majoring in International Studies and minoring in Holocaust, Genocide and Human Rights Studies. I began to volunteer in my first institutional role at UNCC English Language Training Institute. There, I conversed, engaged and tutored students face-to-face on ESL (English as a Second Language) curriculum. I further supplement my practical training providing international students an opportunity to improve their English and helped expose them to American culture through my enrollment in the International Friendship & Culture Exchange Program.
What I value most of all out of my tutoring experience is the satisfaction that comes from helping others and the way in which I am able to take both my counseling and tutoring experiences and merge them into a power tool for academic success. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I utilize various programs in my line of work including: Adobe Photoshop, Inkscape, Gimp, as well as others :-)
