As my love for helping people began to grow, I realized that tutoring would be the perfect way to continue this trend. As a freshman starting out in college, I have a deep understanding of what it is like to need as much help as possible from a single handed tutor/ teacher. For several years, I gained the opportunity to build experience for two years in tutoring many elementary and middle school students. It brought me joy in being able to watch students grow academically and educationally. It brings me excitement to watch them realize their full potential in a subject they could be having such a hard time grasping alone.
I specialize in tutoring math and English for elementary and middle school students. I am also proficient and fluent in Spanish. My goal for each student is to be able to reach their highest potential, no matter what the subject or grade level is. I want each and every student to challenge themselves to be able to reach the next level. I provide challenging activities and homework each tutoring session to make sure students are pushing their limits. Apart from making sure students gain their full potential in the tutoring sessions, I will provide progress reports and maintain daily communication with the parents.
To be able to give the students my full teaching potential, I often ask for feedback and I never bill for a lesson in which the student or parent is not fully satisfied with my services.
I will try to be as flexible as possible with my time. I do acquire a 24 hour cancellation, but I also offer make up classes.
To ensure that students receive a comfortable and quiet study space to work with, there is a library that I commute to. If it is inconvenient for you, I am happy to work out a place that I could commute to that is more convenient for the student.
I am excited to hear from you and helping your student grow in their academic and educational studies!

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I gained 2 years of elementary tutoring experience when I worked with a company called Kumon. I was one of the main math and English tutors for the elementary level kids. I was able to sit down with these students and primarily teach them by showing examples. After that, they would learn through repetition. Every time they were showing signs of struggle they would would revisit that same level and if not they would continue to move on to the next level, as this is the best method to abide by with younger students. I have learned in and taken advanced classes for both English and math, so it makes it easier for me to start with the basics. I also do a lot of elementary school volunteering for tutoring and reading sessions.
