The University of North Carolina at Greensboro (Elementary Education)
I have a degree in Elementary Education from The University of North Carolina at Greensboro. I have such a passion for working with students! I have a year of tutoring experience and hope to tutor for many more years to come. I have just completed my student teaching in a Kindergarten classroom and hope to have my own classroom in the fall. I love to tutor students, watch them grow, and help them to reach their goals!
Before I begin tutoring a student, I always have a detailed conversation with the parents/guardians about what their exact concerns and goals are for their student. I like to make sure I have a clear understanding of what progress they want their student to make. I then use that conversation to help guide me in my preparation. Depending on the area of concern, I normally like to give the students a short assessment on the area of concern so that I can know exactly where I need to begin with instruction. When I meet the student for the first time, I also like to take a few minutes to get to know them and let them get to know me. I feel that it is important for the student to feel comfortable with me and trust me so that they can get the most out of each tutoring session.
If I can be of assistance to your student please let me know!

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
