I have extensive experience in the teaching field. I taught Human Anatomy and Physiology at Queens University in Charlotte for 9 years and during my graduate studies at UNCC, I taught many Biology classes. I have been a substitute teacher for several years in elementary and middle schools.
I have worked as a Scoring Director for 18 years. In that position, I have been in charge of training/monitoring people to score things like end of grade essays, short response science and math, as well as several years work in the new core curriculum. I am very familiar with the new testing standards.
I have two children and have been very active in their education. My oldest is now a PhD candidate at Clemson. My youngest is a software designer.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
