Every person, special needs or not, has a certain learning strategy and finding it is the key to helping children learn.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I interned at a special needs daycare for young adults. I am very used to being around those with special needs. I taught many of our clients new learning skills. I interned there for 5 months. At the daycare I worked with two autistic young men on their communication skills. One who could not talk. We both taught each other things. I would say a word and he would show me what that word was in sign language.
