I’ve obtained my BS in Pure Mathematics, my MS in Applied Mathematics, completed additional graduate coursework at Clemson University and UNC Charlotte, now currently studying Financial Technology (FinTech) at UNC Charlotte.
I began tutoring when I was in high school. Along the way, I've served as volunteer for Elementary Education at Bessemer Elementary in Greensboro NC, in addition to teaching mathematics at the high school, community college and university level.
I pride myself on providing quality assistance for a large selection of math subjects; from the elementary level to the graduate level. If you do not see a math class listed under Wyzant, feel free to send me a message concerning your subject of interest. Though I'm an Applied Mathematician, I emphasize mathematical theory nearly as much as applications. I also have experience working with both traditional and nontraditional students, as well as students diagnosed with ADHD. If requested, I am willing to provide additional practice problems as well as customized lessons.
Whether you want regular lessons, require last minute assistance or want to get ahead, I am always happy to help!

GRE

I've worked with several students to increase their Quantitative Reasoning Scores on the GRE. One student in particular, who's area of study was related to the medical field, was able to get into a graduate Program at Columbia University.

Statistics

Statistics

I have experience tutoring AP Statistics, undergraduate and graduate level statistics classes. I've assisted many students with lessons and projects in Linear Regression, Multivariate Statistics, Biostatistics, and ANOVA.

Elementary Education

Elementary Math

Elementary Math

Having your child understand and master mathematical concepts is very important at a young age. My goal is not have them memorize formulas and not understand why they are doing the math, but to help them see the purpose and reasoning in each step, and to challenge them so that they can see the math in their every day lives.

Homeschool

Algebra 1,

Algebra 1

I was a Teacher Assistant at North Carolina A&T State University that instructed students in Algebra 1 and 2. I went on to teach Algebra 2 at the Community college level, as well as teach Algebra 1 and 2 at the university level, all while tutoring these subjects outside of class.
Algebra 2,

Algebra 2

I was a Teacher Assistant at North Carolina A&T State University that instructed students in Algebra 1 and 2. I went on to teach Algebra 2 at the Community college level, as well as teach Algebra 1 and 2 at the university level, all while tutoring these subjects outside of class.
Calculus,

Calculus

For many years, I've helped students with Calc 1,2,3, and even Calc 4. I also have experience working with students in Calc AB/BC classes; with emphasis on how to approach free response problems on their examinations.
Geometry,

Geometry

During my undergraduate years, I would tutor middle school children in geometry concepts. I believe an understanding in geometry is accomplished through using shapes for explanation, as well as using coloring utensils to identify specific geometric terms.
Prealgebra,

Prealgebra

While teaching at a High School, I saw that a few students had be refreshed on prealgebra concepts because they had gotten confused with some of the basic rules needed to learn the math of the class.
SAT Math,

SAT Math

I have taught and tutored Algebra, Trigonometry, Geometry, Precalculus, Calculus, etc. Since I have been in graduate school, I have also held problem sessions for students so that they can become more proficient in their math. I have also tutored middle school students, and volunteered to help teach math to elementary school students at Bessemer Elementary School.

Differential Equations

I have taken a class in differential equations, systems of differential equations, and I will be taking a class in partial differential equations. I am also doing research which requires knowledge of differential equations.
Finite Math,

Finite Math

While working on my B.S. in Mathematics and my M.S. in Applied Mathematics, I tutored students in finite math. Finite math is a class covering different math areas such as linear programming, introductory probability and linear algebra. I have taken separate classes in each of these areas as well. I am also a foreign currency trader, so I know about the calculation of inflation rates, future and present payments, as well as valuation of bonds.
Geometry,

During my undergraduate years, I would tutor middle school children in geometry concepts. I believe an understanding in geometry is accomplished through using shapes for explanation, as well as using coloring utensils to identify specific geometric terms.
Linear Algebra,

Linear Algebra

I have tutored linear algebra for many years, as well as applied such topics in my own interested of scientific computation. Additional classes I've taken applying linear algebra are matrix theory, numerical methods multivariate regression and statistics, dynamical systems, PDEs, Linear Programming and Optimization and MATLAB.
Logic,

Logic

I have taken a mathematics course in proofs and logic, as well as a philosophy of logic course. This training aids me in developing the argumentative and proof writing skills of students, regardless of their field of study.

I have learned some of the formulas to perform confidence intervals dealing with means and proportions. Thanks for Lee. He made learning a difficult subject a lot easier.

Clear Explanations!

Only one session so far but I’ve learned so much! I used to spend hours on single questions, but his stat crunch lesson halved that time!

Jacob, 1 lesson with Lee

Knowledgeable and patient tutor.

Lee was great he is now my all time favorite go to tutor for all my math needs. I scheduled three more sessions. I feel more confident in my math now. Im excited to see what the future of math holds for me:)

TiAna, 1 lesson with Lee

Amazing tutor. Wouldn't have passed without him!

Lee was a fantastic tutor for my MBA Applied Managerial Statistics course. It was a very challenging, accelerated course that was made overly complicated in class, but Lee worked with my regularly to simplify and create easy to follow steps to understand the problems. His demeanor is very supportive and he is always readily available and super flexible. Couldn't recommend him more!

Dillon, 6 lessons with Lee

Knowledgable and great at explaining things.

I am taking a college Stats and Probability class and I was so confused before the lesson. After Lee explaining everything, it all made so much sense. He is super smart and so good at explaining complicated material! I will definitely be taking more classes with Lee!

great teacher

Very great teacher, really helped me understand the topics we discussed. Lee was also very patient with me when I had a lot of questions

Daniel, 1 lesson with Lee

Knowledgeable and friendly tutor!

Lee helped me understand confidence intervals for proportions, estimating sample sizes for estimating proportions within a specified margin of error, and finding the sample proportion and margin of error from a given confidence interval. I have a much better understanding of my statistics class now. Thank you!

Emily, 1 lesson with Lee

He is very knowledgeable and patient t

He thought me advance statistics such as Anova statistics. He also thought me how to do data analysis using Excel Toolpak. He is a good tutor. I appreciate him.

Lucky, 5 lessons with Lee

explains it well!

Lee helped me through the problems and I started to understand it better. He was very patient with me asking questions.
