In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I played basketball back in high school. I was the point guard but also played shooting guard as well. This is my favorite sport of all. I have worked with elementary and middle school kids in helping them learn the fundamentals of the game. Being 6'2 and about 195 pounds, I stand out to others as someone who enjoys teaching and playing basketball.
I have a graduate degree in Business Administration and am quite familiar with a lot of Business courses. Some of my Business courses include Accounting, Statistics, and Marketing. I had a GPA of 3.5 in my MBA program.

I tutored kids from k-6 as part of the No Child Left Behind Program in South Carolina. I assisted them with reading, spelling, and basic math. I met with them at their homes and sometimes at the library.
I played football back in high school. I know all the positions on offense and defense. I am also familiar with plays as well as rules of the game. In my younger days, I played the position of linebacker and defensive end.
I took marketing classes as part of my graduate degree program. I was taught how to market and create a competitive advantage on goods and services.
Public speaking is something I do daily. Although I took the course in undergrad, I use it today to present cases to family court judges as part of my duties as a probation officer. Public speaking involves speaking clearly and making sure you give your audience appropriate eye contact.
